Summary
TSA officers at Los Angeles International Airport stopped a traveler carrying 82 fireworks, 3 knives, 2 replica firearms, and pepper spray on a Philadelphia-bound flight on Dec. 15.
The discovery shocked TSA staff, prompting officials to remind travelers to thoroughly check their bags for prohibited items, especially during the busy holiday season.
It remains unclear if the woman was arrested or barred from her flight.
TSA emphasized the importance of following security guidelines to avoid delays and safety concerns at airports.
The problem with the TSA security theatre is that they only catch the really dumb ones.
I’m more disappointed that this is “news” than anything else
Yeah, 82 fireworks sounds way more impressive than a partially open box of black cats, couple of knives and a couple of lighters.
I imagined a huge bag fucking loaded with big ones, not this shit.
The surprising part is that the TSA actually managed to find something.
The discovery shocked TSA staff
Presumably because they had a supervisor come over to hold up the silhouette cards from training and match the shapes.
If you put all the bad things in one bag they have a chance. Spread that over 100 people and it probably all gets through.
“We’re doing our jobs now that you’re looking”
What the hell?! How do you even fit all of that into a carry-on bag?
It’s a bunch of firecrackers, a couple little knives, and a couple bottle openers.
I think all three of those knives combined have a shorter blade than my daily carry pocket knife.
lol yeah that’s all nothing.
Except the bottle openers, “you can’t bring that on a plane” is perfectly fine. But you don’t need to play make believe that it’s some big bust either. Just let her throw it away or leave and get someone to take it for her or whatever and move on.
The 82 “fireworks” is absolutely hilarious. It looks like the just separated one string of fire crackers. The headline had me expecting a backpack bristling with rockets and blades.
I mean tbf they opened a box of those individual firecrackers and counted each one lol
Guess it sounds scarier than some knives and a box of firecrackers
Really, a bottle-opener shaped like a gun so small a toddler would have trouble holding it counts as a “firearm replica”?
Probably better to not allow these, then accidentally allow a real one which someone thought was a replica.
You’d probably do more damage with the bottle opener than with a working gun that size.
Idk they make some tiny single shot 22s.
Still way too big for that size gun.
GUnS bAD! RuN AWay!
Yeah shouldn’t be carrying that stuff in a carry on. Do have to wonder why she thought it would be ok?
Would love to hear her side of it.
Also the tiny box of firecrackers as “82 FIREWORKS”
It’s basically cop drug bust math
