As one expert said on National Geographic’s “Deep Sea Disaster” climate change crisis speculative episode, “Nature will squeeze us into pockets of instability and then kill us”. Coastal cities will go underwater, storms will destroy other coastal cities, which means less land to inhabit. A catastrophic reduction of land/real estate and droughts killing crops will lead to skyrocketing tribalism - a perfect breeding ground for authoritarianism. An endgame scenario leading to a “Panem” is not out of the question.
Humanity chose… poorly.
It sucks watching this play out.
I read authoritarian backlash as:
Conservatives hate humans so much, they are willing to go down with the ship, rather then save a single one of them as well as themselves.
Maybe living a healthy life wasn’t such a good Idea for me after all. Now, I’ll probably experience all the worst times on this planet till the very end :/
Eh… I watched this doc this morning on forever chemicals. None of us are healthy.
Check how many animals have microplastics inside them.
the time to fight for 1.5 has looooong past. you could maybe fight for 3 but you’ll probably just be fighting for your next meal
