I did this in 2003. I designed a new server room for a company and had to transition their servers from the zero cable management abomination they previously had to my over engineered fishbowl. To get the servers off the racks I literally had to take garden shears and cut the cables. The pile was a few feet high and I sat on it like a throne because no sane person would pass on that opportunity.

I don’t mean to kink shame but, come on man, other people need those cables to work.

Makes me wish I’d taken pictures of the rope locker and line rooms in the Navy. We’d make some awesome thrones with the line when underway. Nothing is as comfortable as one of those chairs when the ship would rock

Actually worked with this guy briefly. If I recall correctly this was from a decomm moving from a DC in Utah. Nice guy. Really good DC tech.
