For me it’s Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney. I think it’s how jarring the synth is and how it kind of engraves itself in your brain.
I’m also not a fan of Home Alone 4. He wasn’t even home alone and it felt incredibly made for TV with the scene transitions they used.
I wasn’t sure if I should use dislike or annoy in the title. I was originally going to say media but maybe there’s other things out there like chocolate flavored candy canes.

Yeah, my family have always had a problem of quanity over quality.
Not to sound ungrateful, but I’d prefer one thoughtful gift to a bag full of stocking fillers - it’s better for the environment and they’ll actually see use rather than just rotting in a drawer
All this hypocrisy. All these messages from colleagues and other people annoy me because everyone is suddenly very nice and only wishes each other the best. And of course the family has to be visited too. And there have to be gifts even if you have nothing else to say to each other.
I hate it.
The music, it’s gotta go. The same 12 songs on loop since November it’s just torture.
Especially when it’s some half-ass, jazzed-up version made by someone whose career is on life support. It’s like department stores have embraced the concept of hostile architecture, but for our ears.
Home Alone 4 is the first one not to see a theater release, so yes it was in fact made for TV.
As for my answer: It feels like everyone needs vacations after the holidays because of the stress of having to see everyone and of traveling all over to do so… I wish we lived closer so it would be less trouble but if we did it would become an excuse to join those who go see the extended family that lives hours away…
At least it’s not like when I was a kid and one side of the family would have five separate parties where all the same people would be there just in a different house each time…
People dumping their trees on the street after it’s over.
Secret Santa at my job.
The platitudes that carry no actual well wishes beyond a catchphrase that gets repeated by everyone. I’ll be merry someday, but not now.
I’m not Christian, so I honestly wish we had more “happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. I celebrate the solstice. But I still do a tree and a big dinner and have a gathering on the 25th as part of the season, so it’s all good.

The Christmas songs. How do you drivers drive to those?
Hollow gestures and implied obligations.
