I’d love to be on a GLP-1 (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc). I’ve had Wegovy prescribed, but my plan excludes it and the others unless you have diabetes.

It’s definitely one of the current “trendy” prescriptions in the USA right now, which I hate since a lot of people are using them as “get thin quick” hacks that will fix their life. Being a 300lb guy without diabetes where general diet and exercise aren’t dropping the pounds, my prescriber said I’d be a perfect candidate for it.

Whats your diet philosophy (not dieting, what macros do you gravitate toward or what do you struggle with objectively?)

I was offered this at a MedSpa just for saying I had like 5-10 vanity pounds I’d like to drop but I am a terrible candidate for it. Like, sure I could take it, lose the weight, stop taking it, how the heck would I keep it off? If I could keep it off I could lose it! It’s more like I am already living and eating and exercising and healthy but healthy doesn’t look the way I want it to.

This is probably part of the shortage, I wholeheartedly agree. The lifestyle doctors are prescribing it to the wrong group. Not the people who would be healthier simply by dropping weight.

What are you eating to maintain 300lb though? That is a lot of mass!
