I’m trying to post some stuff over at literature.cafe, but when it seems it isn’t federating. I checked the modlog to see if I was banned, but nothing came up. When I attempt to press over to read some stuff in the meta community, it bounces me elsewhere. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
@sabreW4K3 It seems like your instance has 1.19 version - https://fedidb.org/network/instance/lemmy.tf
It’s a known bug of this #Lemmy version, tell your instance owner to update to 1.19.1, if fixed it as far I’m aware
It’s not fixed unfortunately. We are on 0.19.1 and having issues.
The fix is to regularly restart which clears the federation queue.
Yup, I don’t see any new posts from some instances with 0.19.1
There were some federation issues with the 0.19 upgrade, I do not know if the server admin has gotten around to updating to 0.19.1 yet
I think the new lemmy version has some federation issues. I don’t see all the posts on some instances
Certainly seems that way. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t seem to be a total failure … plenty of stuff is moving around. So it’s fault tolerant to some extent but perhaps buggy or leaky, which is maybe hard to nail down.
Lemmy 0.19.1 has this fix. I think that could be the cause for the spurious federation issues.
Luckily very little changed between 0.19.0 and 0.19.1 so upgrading shouldn’t take that long. That said, I haven’t seen any hig announcements about the new release even though it’s already published on Docker Hub, so perhaps not many instance administrators know there’s a new version?
Still have lots of issues with outgoing federation in 0.19.1.
Stay on 0.18.5 for now…
Any instance on 0.19 or higher will likely continue to have federation issues. The devs reopened this issue: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4288
