Bernie? AOC? Biden?

I think Pennsylvania’s Governor Shapiro is a good choice, but Michigan’s Governor Whitmer is also an excellent idea. Both states are needed to win and have been looking choppy electorially (to say the least). I don’t think Sanders would take the call (for various reasons, none of which are bad). AOC is too “east-coast” when you’ve already got one of the more progressive Democrats on the ticket in Harris. Besides her time as a DA, Harris is fairly progressive. She was originally put on the 2020 Biden ticket as a nod to progressives within the party… so far as VP, she’s stayed to the left of Biden on most things.

I like Whitmer, but I think two women on the ticket would be a bridge too far for a lot of folks. It’s pretty much gotta be a white guy.

I want Tim Walz for VP. He’s an older white governor from a swing state. He’s been leading some good progressive policies here in MN but has a small rural area background. He was a representative for rural southern MN for a while and has a good wholesome background as a teacher. He has two years left as a governor here in MN but our Lt. Governor is awesome so we would be happy to have her lead as well.

Gov Shapiro, Gov Whitmire, Sen Kelly. The first two probably get their state off the contested map. I don’t know if Kelly can deliver AZ.

As far as I’ve heard, nobody seems to hate Shapiro. Of course, they only vote red in rural PA, but in-betweeners would likely side with him.

Imagine being the kind of sun allergic bottomfeeder that still unironically uses the word “shitlib” post 2016, and especially post covid, and especially post Dobbs.

You’re not discoursing, you’re just outing yourself as the exact kind of person who’ll get us all killed if anyone gets up the dumbass to listen to you.

Signed, an actual fucking Palestinian American instead of some white kid like you that sees us as the latest convenient martyrs for their excuse to not due their minimum duty to protect the republic and everyone who’ll die first if it collapses.

    Andy Beshear.

Realistically it’s going to be Josh Shapiro, Roy Cooper, or Mark Kelly. Shapiro because he’d guarantee the Pennsylvania vote and tear anyone apart in a debate, Cooper because he’d secure the NC vote and probably boost the southern vote in general, and Kelly because his background is as American as possible, plus he’d get us Arizona. Tim Walz is another likely pick imo, partially because Minnesota vote and all, but he’s not as appealing in a campaign as many of the other choices.

Out of all of these, Shapiro seems like the strongest choice to me if he takes off his glasses. Cooper probably offers the most up-front and is exactly what Americans think of when they hear the words “vice president”, but Shapiro would probably perform the most impressively in public speaking & debates, and Kelly would probably give the best public image.

Beshear probably is the most progressive and has the best platform out of all of the likely candidates, but he’s made the critical mistake of being from Kentucky, which is definitely NOT a swing state, which means he doesn’t by default guarantee extra votes. The Democrats would have to run a very good campaign to utilize Beshear’s full potential, but considering all the finding pouring in I think it’d work out in their favor.

The Democrats will not put 2 women or 2 non-whites on the same ballot. It’s just not happening. The nominee will be a white guy. Raphael Warnock is unbelievable in his campaigning/charisma, but Americans are too racist for a Harris-Warnock ballot to be a viable option in terms of votes. Same goes for Harris-Whitmer.

If Newsom becomes the VP pick I’m going to yeet myself off a cliff…

AOC is a year too young. I agree Govs Shapiro and Whitmer are likely on the short list. I think Sen. John Ossoff could be a contender from GA

Stacey Abrams managed to flip Georgia, and has a similar background (legal) and views as Harris… They’d probably make an awesome team.

Gretchen Whitmer but my parents are still wishing for Klobuchar to get somewhere in WH proximity so I’ll mention her too.

Jayapal would be hilarious just for how thoroughly a fuck you it would be to the far right to have two WoC on the ticket and then for them to go on and win.

Trump does so good in the debate it backfires and achieves an entirely new level of the kind of social advancement that he rode the backlash into office on in the first place XD.

I would love Amy Klobuchar but you know they aren’t going to do a double women ticket. Same logic against Gretchen Whitmer. I want MN governor Tim Walz but I haven’t heard his name mentioned anywhere.

Patton Oswalt did a bit while back that called trump the “racist’s pallette cleanser” after Obama, and honestly I think he might have been onto something. Racists got loud and yelled for 8 years with Obama, and Patton’s thought is that they rallied for one last hoopla and got Trump elected. That it was needed for this one last racist brigade before we finally normalized PoC and women in the White House.

I think it also woke us up to the fact that they’re still here, and they need to be shunned. Loudly.

I’m not one for violence at all. But I am done being quiet about it. Time for them to know their views are a vocal minority, and I’m done being silent.

Corey Booker or Raphael Warnock seem like they could bring a helpful calming demeanor, though I think the tickets have historical been the other way around, with the VP being more aggressive.
