The only ideological consistency you’ll ever see from the right wing is whatever canard or talking point supports Their Guy, and that the rules should only apply to everyone else. Expect their actual viewpoints to flip-flop incessantly depending on whether or not Their Guy is currently in power.
It’s not even really a flip-flop, to them the guns were always about protecting American conservative identity and nothing else, for nobody else.
Now that they hold the power and they don’t plan on letting go of it willingly, the guns can be used for punching down for that same goal. Making sure the gays don’t corrupt the youth. Making sure the coloreds don’t get too uppity.
Making sure the coloreds don’t get too uppity.
My gun is black, does that count?
It’s based on cowardice
They want people they don’t like to be get hurt, arrested, beaten, jailed, intimidated and threatened because it makes them feel good about themselves.
However, they don’t want any of that stuff happen anywhere near them … or have anyone ask them to do any of those activities themselves … they just want to watch on the sidelines and shout out their support for everything as long as it all goes their way.
And it’s also a distraction from everything else in life. THEIR GUY in power might be destroying their country, making everything expensive and making everyone, regardless of their political affiliation, miserable … but as long as they can turn on the news and watch brown people and other minorities getting arrested and intimidated by goons in black masks and sunglasses, then it all makes up for the fact that the country is slowly degrading around them.
2nd amendment guy under Obama
Martial artist, actor and film producer Chuck Norris this week added weight to online commenters’ concerns on US news website WND, where he urged Texans not to believe government reassurances it is simply a military exercise.

“I think there’s something a little more involved than what they’re telling us,” he wrote.
-
"Whether deterrence, display of power or something more covert or devious, let’s not come with any patronising nonsense of impotence and simplicity when its origin is in Washington.
-
“It’s neither over-reactionary nor conspiratorial to call into question or ask for transparency about Jade Helm 15 or any other government activity.”
2nd amendment guy under Trump

In the video, which gained traction on social media in May 2025, Norris says he “used to be a Democrat” but grew disillusioned as the party “moved too far to the left.” He added, “Unfortunately, the Democrats went too far to the left. I believe Republicans now stand for what Democrats used to represent 40 years ago. They’re more focused on what’s best for our country.”
…
Over the years, Norris has campaigned for several high-profile Republican candidates. He endorsed Mike Huckabee during both the 2008 and 2016 presidential primaries, appeared in support of Roy Moore during Alabama’s 2017 Senate race, and backed Larry Elder in California’s 2021 gubernatorial recall election. Beyond U.S. politics, Norris also expressed admiration for former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him “a true defender of democracy.”
In the latest video, Norris instead focuses on explaining his political evolution, presenting his views with calm conviction rather than partisanship. “I’m still proud of where I came from,” he says at one point, “but I’m even prouder to stand up for what I believe America stands for today.”
I mean, it all looks like bullshit to me. You’re just not as stirred up when a Republican is in charge.
