minus-squareGladaed@feddit.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoMisleading if not fake. This seems like it can be fixed via software, instead of requiring you to get a new car.
minus-squareA7thStone@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoI’m sure that’s very comforting to the people who just wanted to get in their car and go to work.
minus-squareHubertManne@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoimagine trying to figure out why it won’t start. check the battery. maybe its the alternator???
minus-squareBuffalox@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·edit-213 days agoIf functionality can be restore, the car was not bricked. Bricked means beyond repair. The device is as worthless as a brick because it can’t be repaired, and it has absolutely zero functionality. So yes it must be comforting for people to know that they can have their car working again.
minus-squarethermal_shock@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·edit-213 days agoAnyone even accidentally remote disables my car, even if fixable, can go fuck themselves. Not interested, pass.
minus-squarechiliedogg@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoIf I had a car that had suddenly stopped working due to a careless update, I’d want it to be bricked so I could make the manufacturer pay for a different fucking car.
minus-squarethermal_shock@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoThe fact it was disabled to begin with is enough for me to pass on a jeep.
minus-squareBuffalox@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoFor me that’s no different than anything else Stelantis.
minus-squarethermal_shock@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·13 days agoFixed. There will be more doing this in the future.
