… Because there’s one outside my window right now, which is unusual, I though most of them were near the highway, outside town… And I’m having some thoughts…

And yes I’m an adult.

Experience as is having sex with a prostitute? If so, that’s a no.

I have, however, spent time with strippers, hookers, escorts (which is like a hooker but more expensive), phone sex performers, one porn actress and her porn actor boyfriend, and an ex-pimp.

Back in the day, I moved to a city for a while. Worked as a bouncer for two different guys that owned multiple places, including strip clubs (and gay clubs/bars, plus a sports bar). So I knew a lot of strippers, including a couple that hooked/escorted on the side. That ended up with me meeting other prostitutes and escorts.

The phone sex workers were similar. Had a friend that did it during college, and met some of his coworkers.

The porn actors I met at a party semi randomly. Ended up being friends with them for a few years before they moved to Colorado. The ex pimp was a patient.

Anyway, I don’t personally have an issue with sex work, or the customers using the services. If you decide to, make sure you use a condom, treat them well, and pay up without complaint or negotiating price. Yeah, you can usually get a lower price, but they’re taking a stange cock and a ton of risk, so just pay what they ask. Make sure you’re up front about what you want, and don’t try and switch things up during the service.

Seriously, be decent to people, no matter what, but the street level sex workers get treated like shit way too often, so be on your best behavior, okay? Use your manners, unless you make an agreement otherwise. This is another human being.

That comment is literally all bullshit, with the exception of the last paragraph where that person made their own real opinion (and to justify it, made shit up) but is a valid point. So please don’t put any merit to it.

Remember that not everyone is from the same societies.

For instance my experiences have been largely like his. I didn’t do bouncer work, but drove a taxi, and also knew strippers and escorts.

          What’s so bullshit about it?

I can substantially assume a lie if no evidence exists. Why the fuck do you all instantly assume everything in the internet is default true? Why am I the crazy one here?

It’s not an absurd claim. Why jump to it being false? You’re not “crazy”, you’re just accusatory for no apparent reason.

I dated someone who had a roommate that was a sex worker. She was a professional domme; I found her professional profile online along with a non-comprehensive list of services she offered, and it was definitely enough to identify her.

I very briefly dated someone that was a stripper, and I’m still irregularly in touch with her (she’s now an upper-level exec in advertising).

No, I’m not naming either of them, because it’s not my right to out them.

Why is it so hard to believe that someone might know sex workers IRL, and not as a client? Sex workers all have real lives outside of what they do for a living.

I imagine that you’re sitting at home by your computer, minding your business and following various rabbit holes on the internet until you hear tapping on the window right next to you. “WTF” you think as you turn around to see what’s happening.

You look out the window, perplexed, unable to form complete sentences as you gaze upon a stray sex worker, cold and wet (from the rain, obviously). Will you invite her in and offer her a towel? Do you feed her? What do you tell your significant other? “Hey, I rescued this stray sex worker. She can stay with us for a while, right?”

They brought business into the bar but didn’t source business there, always made sure to have the Johns leave a good tip, and were model patrons. As a bartender, I respected and appreciated that, one service professional to another.

Aren’t we all service professionals now? The difference is how is society “labels” the service…

Strong worker protections and regulations on the capitalist owner class will set you free. Unions will set you free. Strong social support networks will set you free.

Sitting around and crying like a little bitch waiting on a revolution that will never come? That’s just a different set of chains, brother.

I’ve never had sex with a prostitute. That’s not to say that I didn’t spend the night with one. After the love of my life passed away I went to a world famous brothel a few miles from my house and met a few girls and picked one. She reminded me of her, and so I paid her a lot of money to hold me and snuggle with me and let me cry. Honestly I think that was far more intimate than fucking.

I just wanted to thank OP for this thread since this is quite enlightening about sex workers/industry in general. From where I come from, sex work is technically illegal but not very enforced. But those things also make it hard to regulate the market and make it safe. I learn so much and a lot here.

As for my opinion before I read about all the intricacies of sex industry, wank it first to think with a clear head. Then if you happen to come to the same conclusion, hey, more bang for your bucks!

I’ve had a few meetings off tryst, one off twitter. Pretty decent way to bang someone who is ridiculously out of your league, but it doesn’t impart anything lasting. You’ll need to give your ID in most cases, and like everything else inflation has hit it hard.

Also, just like Tinder, do not expect the pictures to match reality exactly. In fact, with money involved this is probably more the rule than the exception.

Not sure if this counts as sex work but I got a lap dance once, because I hadn’t touched or been touched by a woman in years.

I told her that. She said I could touch her. Bouncer started coming my way, she waved him off, and I reminded myself what it was like to touch a woman. It helped. Ended my dry spell.

If you are going to pay for it, then pay for an escort and be safe. If you are looking at a street walker, then you have a much much much higher chance of getting an sti or getting robbed.

Go to a proper place if you can afford it and if your country allows anything like brothels.
I would not recommend letting your penis take the lead and make you make an impulsive decision.
Decide later if you want to, sleep on it. If you decide to do it, find a place where the women are treated well and in accordance with human rights. And where they are clean. Preferably not next door.

In places where it’s illegal there are still independent & professional escorts, but they want references or some kind of assurance that you’re not LEO or someone crazy who’s going to hurt them.

Definitely don’t do it then. You don’t want to be potentially contributing to a system of abuse.

Plus, you don’t know if she’s a victim, underage, a set-up, and/or has something you could catch.

Don’t do something you’ll regret soon after.

Step one: purchase raver candy. Step two: go to the strip club and hand it out for free. Step 3: Have a great night

Works best 2 - 3 hours before closing time on a busy night.

That worked 20 years ago, I’m going to bet it still does.
