Like pleading with Hector not to fight Achilles, Cassandra has been warning about ALPRs for over a decade now, possibly two, that they were too intimate a search to allow law enforcement to use them without narrowly-defined warrants.

As with the Greek wooden horse Cassandra shouted was going to burn Troy to the ground, only too late we are seeing how such power can be used.

    No one listens to Cassandra.

Sounds like a great lawsuit. Also a great way for Flock to lose their contracts with large blue cities in Texas (and elsewhere).

Also a great way for Flock to lose their contracts with large blue cities in Texas (and elsewhere).

This would only lead to the emergence of another Flock, with the same problems.

What you should really do is abolish that stupid and retrograde law.

We need an anti-flock campaign. A city government didn’t give them permission to put their cameras up and when they did it anyway, the city covered them in garbage bags before they could get removed.

It’s more like ejecting a trespasser.

Imagine if a person broke into your home and you kicked them out, then they died of pneumonia. Their family sues you for killing them. But you didn’t kill them, you just kicked them out.

The person at fault is the person who committed the trespass.

She wouldn’t have to abort if the dick-haver kept it in his pants, would she?

There are a range of medical procedures and medicines that label can be applied to. Is “abortion” still homicide when it is used to prevent illness, death, and suffering? How about when medicine is used to remove a non-viable pregnancy as mentioned in the article?

And if miscarriage is abortion, then “god” is the most prolific abortionist of all, since a majority of fertilized ova do not implant in the uterus or do implant but get expelled in the next period.

Anyone that says abortion is murder is an idiot. The anti abortion movement has everything to do with keeping women down and to ensure a poor population for labor. The every day anti women person thinks it’s about life because their leaders tell them that bull. If they are not part of the top 10% they are nothing more than pawns. And their leadership is laughing all the way to the bank.

Objectively not, but reactionaries try to remake the world into their warped postmodern “truth”.

That sheriff has since been arrested and indicted on felony counts in an unrelated sexual harassment and whistleblower retaliation case. He has also been charged with aggravated perjury for allegedly lying to a grand jury. EFF filed public records requests with Johnson County to obtain a more definitive account of events.

At least his side of the story has a happy ending.

The rest of the story is bonkers, though. The headline could not possibly do it justice. This is one you need to sit down and read with a cup of tea.

Yep. This wasn’t systemic abuse, it was one guy. But it illustrates the possibilities.
