Say, random meta question but… Why is editing turned off for me? No response when I tried to contact a mod. Is this platform-wide or am I being punished for something lol.

So, if Taco gets in office and breaks so many things by reversing course on the path we were on, and now we are going in the “wrong direction”, what direction were we going under Biden, hmmmmm?

Is there optimism dropping after Kirk’s killing because they realize they’ve been sucked into a fascist political movement that’s pressure cooking the entire country and provoking violent outbursts? Or are they on some “I am very sad that we will have to throw all the trans people into death camps” bullshit?

Haha, no. It’s just “My stuff is still expensive. I could tolerate the nazi stuff, but now it’s affecting me” for a lot of people.

Is it a good time yet for the Samuel L Jackson meme as the GOP and the guy he just shot as the economy and Jackson yelling “Why’d you make me do that?!?”

I’m sure we’ll get to see lots and lots of Murc’s Law in action about how the Democrats are to blame for not restraining the GOP in their worst impulses in, well, everything that they do.

Doesn’t look like they’re gonna do anything about it, other than endorsing the next stupid thing he comes up with, though.

Republicans are at fault. The fact they are saying this doesn’t in any way get them off the hook for the consequences. They will still somehow blame everyone but themselves and for that they can fuck right off.

They only care when they’re impacted. If they could triple the price of eggs for minorities so they could get them cheaper again they would do it in a heartbeat. They desperately want to pretend everything is fine.

Don’t you think it’s interesting that republicans think this every time there’s a republican president. I think that’s very interesting.

Sure, but you won’t ever see them ask “why does shit suck when the guy I voted for is in charge?” It’ll just be more “why did Joe Biden do this?”

I work in a major tech company where there’s a lot of Trumpers.

When we had a major international DDos attack, these motherfuckers blamed Obama.

When we had to move onto Cloudflare because of AI scraping, these motherfuckers blamed Obama.

Even when we had to change Master to Main, these motherfuckers blamed Obama.

The most ridiculous shit, at some point, led back to that one thing Ol’ Boogieman Obama did, like some sort of shitty butterfly effect.

And these are the things they say OPENLY in meetings. I can’t imagine what they don’t say out loud.

Taco and his spokesmorons said that it might not be until 2026, or maybe later, until we “dig out” of some alleged mess the prior administration made for these poor dears.

They say that, hoping that many people never actually look for the data that shows how terrible it all was before Taco seized power in January. And knowing that their base sure as hell won’t bother with the actual facts.

I wonder what they can do about that?

Just tossing ideas out here… maybe stop voting for Republicans.

    Hot take, I know…

Too late. The legitimacy of voting is dead. The only way we return to our version of democracy is to burn it all to the ground. These fascists aren’t going away by rules and laws that already aren’t following.

Whoa, let’s not make that assumption now until we’re proven otherwise. We have no choice but to promote, register, and assume the next elections will be mostly legitimate.

It’s far too risky to spread apathy right now. Game Theory dictates you promote voting, regardless.

Look, I’ve been watching the decline of this country for far longer than the Trump years. I know where we are and where we’re headed. I know that in the past when this very same cycle of tyranny rises up the solution is destruction and rebuilding. You can’t reason with cancer.

I too have been watching for decades while also having the unfortunate displeasure of being on both sides of the ideological spectrum.

I too have the same concerns; but that doesn’t change the Game Theory.

Righties, accelerationists (who are so willing to sacrifice others for their cause or romanticizing the apocalypse) absolutely love to promote apathy and defeatism in stating that voting doesn’t matter.

If it doesn’t, then what you say will come true anyway; but until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, you still push people to vote. I heard similar talk during his first term. Trump left the White House once. We can make him do it again.
