So, making them realise that one of their own comes up with what they would consider deviant may lead some to reevaluate their position on what is acceptable and/or what they think of him, and whether they keep listening to him. I acknowledge it’s a long shot, but anything that erodes their adherence to these rightwing ‘thought leaders’ is beneficial.
