It sounds like it didn’t get reviewed By the publisher and he seems genuinely apologetic.

Miami New Times publisher Adam Simon tells Axios the ad is unacceptable and he’s changing the alt weekly’s ad review process.

    • Normally, he said, staffers — including himself — review ads prior to publication. But in this case, the ad came in past their deadline and Simon did not review it.
    • The New Times will no longer take ads so late that they can’t be reviewed, he said.
    • “Naturally, had I seen it, which I should have, I would not have let it run as is.”

Who knows for sure, but I was expecting whoever ran the ad to either be a supporter or completely indifferent. It was a nice surprise to see them also be upset instead.

The fun part of this though is that the ad looks like the sort of thing crazies used to tape to telephone poles before the advent of the Internet era. It’s like the Timecube of political newspaper ads.

So it will not help Trump in the slightest. It was a huge waste of money.

“Our newspaper is in such dire financial straits that we can’t afford to turn down any adveriser.” does bad things to employee morale and shareholder enthusiasm (which we all know is what really matters). When the truth is too damning, you cannot run with it.

You know when you see a minivan completely covered in homemade signs about trump and Jesus and illuminati and stuff? Like it looks so unhinged that you just feel bad for the mental health of the person driving it?

That’s what this ad looks like. It looks like how Trump thinks. Unwell.
