You can be sympathetic to the plight of the hostages and be against Zionism and the Gazan genocide at the same time.

Does Hamas exist in a vacuum? No. Does that justify kidnapping hundreds of civilians? No. Does that justify the murder of thousands? Also no.

Abso-fucking-lutely 100% the correct take right here. We need to absolutely be wary of opportunists trying to remove nuance from the situation. That doesn’t mean don’t be realistic about the horrors, that doesn’t mean treating the vile guilty parties with kid gloves, it just means ensuring we don’t let our outrage carry us away with the current. And we have to be honest with ourselves that there are legitimately an astounding amount of outside forces and actors trying to manipulate the situation from all sides to score wins and promote dangerous ideologies.

Seek justice, seek peace, yes absolutely, but don’t let yourself become an unwitting soldier in somebody else’s war.

Or deny that there was a massacre on October 7th or that there’s war crimes being committed currently by Israel. The whole situation is fucked and nothing about it will change unless everyone sits the fuck down at a table plus Israel’s allies need to stop fucking giving them complete carte blanche to do whatever they want and they need to stop funding/providing weapons.

Yeah, watching one now. She really fucked up with this. I mean there’s no doubt they were looking for a reason to fire her. But this…I mean honestly I would fire her for this alone. Her good work doesn’t excuse this.

She was that disrespectful to a guest on the show (who was merely trying to talk about her sister who is a hostage) and she got canned.

Yeah I’d have fired her too. The complete lack of professionalism is astounding.

Exactly. Shit like this pisses me off because it distracts from the important things (like the genocide in Gaza!).

I appreciate the Rational National, I watched the whole interview, and was shocked at how much misinformation, propaganda and BS the woman was saying throughout. Briahna, I thought, countered her misinformation, and then right at the end the woman makes this bazaar claim like “I hope you believe women” and it was VERY much eye roll inducing. Like, she lied about so much during that interview, and then disparaged Briahna like the reason she’s being dismissed is because Briahna “doesn’t believe women.” it was pathetic. She should not have been fired.

It’s important to watch this entire interview. Definitely unwise to have rolled their eyes, especially to a family member of a hostage, but the guest being interviewed repeatedly made unfounded claims, citing groups confirmed to have spread misinformation/propaganda.

  • I am a firm believer of playing by the same rules the opposition has set, when playing against them.

If The Hill is censoring and silencing dissent, maybe it’d be good to disallow posts linking to articles in The Hill. Deny them clicks and views.
