What does the doc say that came with it?

I want to say yes, but I have seen rgb come that way before. Plugging into the wrong thing could blow it out. Read the manual, or at the very least give us the exact make and model of the ram

Plugging in 5v things in 12v will blow it up. I am 99% sure RAM sticks’REGB is 5v. So OP should find a 5v RGB header on their motherboard. They’ll need to read both, motherboard’s and RAM’s manual.

plug it straight into the PSU, just splice the wires. Make sure to use electrical tape!
