President Donald Trump on Friday fired the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner, hours after the agency reported that job growth in the U.S. had slowed to a near-halt.
In a Truth Social post that also directed even more fire at Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Trump accused BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer of being a political appointee who was manipulating jobs data.
“I was just informed that our Country’s “Jobs Numbers” are being produced by a Biden Appointee, Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the Commissioner of Labor Statistics, who faked the Jobs Numbers before the Election to try and boost Kamala’s [Harris’] chances of Victory,” Trump wrote.
“We need accurate Jobs Numbers. I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified,” he added.
At this rate the US will be just like North Korea.
I know they’ll just put in a yes man, but it would be hilarious to have the new appointee say, “yeah, she was right on point.”

This is satire right? Jesus H. Christ. We are so far into clown world that you couldn’t even make fun of it. No matter how ridiculous you make it sound- they will outdo you with reality.
How is this any different from admitting that whoever Trump replaces them with is going to report inaccurate numbers to make Trump look good?
In the era of global fascism, satire is dead. These aren’t bad ideas when you don’t care about anything passed your self image, and no one that matters will stand up to you.

For a good 25 years now, the Republican party has treated reality as a messaging problem, not something to grapple with and use in planning. The only surprise is that it took this long to fire people in the federal government who didn’t give the “right” message.
