I would go with direct burial shielded twisted pair and coax if I were doing it, especially if it will run directly inside for termination.
… It was incredibly sobering that a case about our privacy was being conducted both in private and in secret. So we’re pleased to see a course change here. That said, the battle is not yet won. The arguments to break encryption do not just relate to this specific case and we are having to constantly make the case for why encryption is vital in our democracy; nor does this judgment stipulate that the case will be held fully in the open moving forward – as it should be – only that we can know the “bare details”. We welcome this news but we continue to fight for full transparency here.
The legislation would force companies to store and provide law enforcement with access to their users’ communications, including those that are end-to-end encrypted.3 The consensus among cybersecurity experts is that complying with this requirement for end-to-end encrypted communications services will be impossible without forcing providers to create an encryption backdoor4 —akin to a master key that unlocks every door in a building.
Hopefully they don’t pass this devastating legislation. One has to wonder who this would be benefitting the most? I doubt law enforcement even cares that much. My guess is the same that is responsible for Brexit and destroying the US. Resist wile you can, or better yet get the things you care about enshrined in your constitution and advertised among your constituents. Don’t think it can’t happen to you next.
Unless it’s required to load the words, it’s probably JavaScript that is trying to prevent the user from selecting it, so disabling javascript would make it selectable because the thing blocking the select is disabled. If javascript is loading the words in, then blocking javascript will make it so the page doesn’t load. But they are typically separate scripts from whatever is blocking the select, so addons can selectively block scripts that are detected to block things like select or right-click, etc. If they obfuscate the javascript to where the word load and the blocking are combined, then another method will probably be the easiest to employ like one of the other options I noted above, or going to developer options and copying the text from the inspector.
Several options to get around that. (1) Install a browser extension that will disable whatever block the page has, (2) open developer tools on a desktop browser, delete whatever javascript is preventing it, (3) possibly print to pdf, someone else suggested screenshot + OCR, etc.
I’m out of the loop. Why did github “block” Organic Maps?
Run k3s on top and run your stateless services on a lightweight kubernetes, then you won’t care you have to reboot your hosts to apply updates?
My understanding is some parts have to be done sequentially even though the parts themselves are multithreaded, now the different parts can all be done in parallel.
Word of caution, if you have been browsing successfully until now, it could be a malicious javascript app or malware loaded from that website that is attempting to scan your network or do other things. In other words if this is a new firewall request above and beyond the standard one librewolf needs to function, proceed with cation.
I rip with makemkv then use handbrake for slimming down to hevc/aac. I have too many discs and not enough storage to keep the raw rips. Newer handbrake supports nvidia transcoding for hevc, getting some great quality, but I wish it would support audio tracks and subtitles better… for multilingual subtitles I have a custom ffmpeg script that does a decent enough job.
Also cropping can be a pain in the ass with both ffmpeg and handbrake, much less so on the latter.
If they have the only copy and their datacenter goes belly up, lot of good it did to have the only remaining copy because now it’s lost to existence. Offsite backups and ideally by many different organizations is the only sure-fire way to preserve this stuff. I donate to archive.org because I believe on what they’re trying to do and I hope they can continue on as long as needed.
They probably spawned a sub company who will take that over. No way in hell I believe they stopped this practice.
I want categories of blocklists that I can turn on, e.g. uncheck languages I don’t know, uncheck religion, uncheck politics, etc.
I want to be able to group together all posts that were posted by the same user with the same content to different committees. I want to view that as a single post not 6 or however many they spam posted it to.
I want to be able to view same community spanning different server instances as a single community if I so choose, maybe some way to combine them and auto-add new communities with same name as they pop up ok other instances. Posting to it should give option of which server to post to, or all of them?
Please do look into the internet archive, and anyone who cares about history of the internet, abandoned software/games, public domain media, etc., please consider donating to them as they are under attack by our corporate overlords.
My understanding is that handbrake uses some of the ffmepg libraries but is not on top of the ffmpeg binary, so things do that translate directly. I’ll check out the source code and see what I can figure out about the preset to ffmpeg option mapping.
As far as i can tell there is nothing regarding 3d printing in the article. I don’t think it is too much to ask to keep a community for 3d printing on topic. This seems to be some news piece about someone who had influence on / contributed to the 3d printing community, but as it’s not directly about 3d printing, I honestly fail to see the relevance.
And this has to do with 3d printing how?
I applaud your efforts for speaking your mind and letting people know of a perceived threat. I’m not sure you’re really asking for a rational discussion on this topic, so I’ll keep this short.
If your ideals do not align with the host you are on, I suggest you look around and fine one that does and/or start your own server.
