Doesn’t know the lyrics. Just goes meow meow meow.

So that we can discuss the issue without triggering abuse survivors would be a reason.
Some non peer reviewed paper with a tiny sample size is hardly enough to go “The Science has spoken”. On the other hand, one can make an appeal to the intuitive idea that lack of practice implies lack of skill.
This immediately points to the pernicious effects of touting LLMs as a machine to do all the thinking for you. Heck, the enthusiasts are even using LLMs to do their social interactions for them.
This is a warning to people as much as workplaces: is this task you’re offloading to LLMs really a skill you want to see atrophied?
So you take a small round slice from a fresh baguette and toast it. While still hot you put some brie or camembert on the toast. The point is for the cheese to get a little sweaty byt not runny. Finally cut a date open, pit it, spread it on top of the cheese. Heaven.
Who is this fear mongering creep?
Anyways this video goes into some detail instead of ominously saying jack shit and it sounds like this Enrico guy was mostly busy shuffling code around and breaking stuff, then pivoted into a crusade against DEI. Doesn’t fit the persecuted savior story.
Technology induced problem solved by yet another layer of problematic tech. Capitalism, ho!
What’s the relation with Mint and the UK?
But but but, Libre Office isn’t an operating system! Now I’m curious what distro they’ve adopted.
Kind of half related, but Microsoft loves to fuck with dual booting as well in various ways. Just last year a security patch broke dual booting, required a complicated workaround to get out of, and was only properly fixed 9 months later. Historically some “fast boot” shenanigans have been known to actually be “fucking with linux dual boot”. At this point if I need Windows for some adulting, it’s done in a virtual machine. Microsoft has simply lost their privilege to bare metal access on my PC.
EDIT: Stories like this post are disheartening though, since they show that Microsoft can use their weight to make everyone else’s experience worst even if you completely avoid them.
North of the frontier defunding the CBC sometimes comes up too unfortunately. The conservatives serve us the same arguments: accusations of CBC being partisan and of being radical left.
Similar “free-space optics” systems have been tested since the late 1990s, but past attempts were limited by weather conditions and fragile alignment systems. Taara claims its devices overcome many of those limitations with improved beam tracking and more resilient design.
They claim they’ve overcome that hurdle though, as per the article.
While I was studying 25 years ago every student had bought an education version of Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 at the local shop, which was less than a 100$. In the meanwhile everybody was sharing a cracked copy of Adobe Photoshop since the only license available was upwards of 600$. They absolutely did that to themselves.
In 2012 Microsoft launched Windows 8, which was supposed to be a first step towards transitioning the OS into a walled garden. They clearly intended to shut Steam out, eat Valve’s lunch and take over PC gaming. In the end they backed down, but Gabe took the hint. The consequences are still steadily unravelling today.
Remember this thread is about a bot commodifying the production of cumshot videos from any person’s photo. I fail to see any nuance here. There is only one use: generating porn featuring people that don’t want to. Decency rules continues to apply to general use tools as it always did.

I ditched Windows for Linux some weeks ago precisely so that my OS stops fucking me over.
Generating nonconsensual sexual videos is not something you think, it’s something you do.
Hello! I’m Québécois and as such happily defy all Canadian obligations. The USA gave the elections to the liberals by threatening Canada’s sovereignty. This is because the Conservatives favour the prairies, where there is a strong pro USA sentiment. Alberta’s PM Danielle Smith reminded everybody of that by conniving at Mar-a-Lago while the other provinces were trying hard to show a united front. In the meanwhile Conservative Leader Poilievre took forever to address the issue since he knew part of his base actually wants to be ’murican.
So by now Carney is PM for sure, but it’s not been called yet if it’ll be a minority or majority. I’m not excited about having a paragon of neoliberalism as federal leader (still better than Poilievre *sigh*) so I’m hoping for a minority.
Both translation and subtitles have highly efficient tooling when in the hands of a professional. Translators nowadays use a mix and will build up a dynamic database as they go through a corpus that needs coherence. What’s bad in this instance is not the usage of some AI, but of a badly adapted AI and ultimately of mediocre results which gives an amateurish impression.
