  • I feel like EVE is the direction MMOs needed to go. It’s why so many failed.

It’s what worked for wow when it first came out. The sense of BEING in some other world where things are different is something wow did very very well. The problem is that nobody had any part in building that world, that the story quickly became convoluted and stupid, and that jumping theough the next arbitrary hoop in a fucking Skinner box isn’t escaping this world.

Whoever finds out how to build an mmo where people can build things and make decisions and just fuck everything up if they’re so inclined and make it accessible is going to make a fortune.

  • That I’m a good person. Really didn’t believe that for a lot of my life but therapy helped - not just in how I see myself but in how I BE myself too. I’m still really a degenerate at heart but one with self control and the ability to communicate what I’m feeling. What I want, and to clarify how other people feel.

I’m confident in my ability to communicate, to handle awkward social situations, in my hobbies.

I am confident about my ability to get back into shape. I’ve let myself go over the part couple years. It happens. But I’m back on track.

  • The current anger with Sanders appears to be, from an outsiders pov, that he didn’t criticize Israel by calling it a genocide soon enough.

    That appears to be it.

I mean. To dismiss everything because one mistake, even if that mistake is massive, and then correcting that mistake, if belatedly, to me, says something very positive about that politician.

I’d prefer it was immediate, and it’s gross that it took him so long, but all the other stuff isn’t cancelled out by that. He’s still a net positive. And he DID criticize earlier than any other us politician I can think of, and sure it Could have been even earlier and harsher, but like. Fuck. If you hate politicians for being open to changing mind based on new evidence, or reforming beliefs you don’t like, or admitting mistakes, you are AGAINST them being rational and it plays right into the hands of neoliberal propagandists.

  • The police use Roman legionary techniques to force protestors back.

If you take the mindset that you’re preparing for a nonlethal war and prepare beforehand by bringing tasers and attaching them to very long wooden sticks, or topping the stick with pins that may get stuck in skin but will break when stuck in skin, or even just use the very long sticks, all you need to do is find enough people to drill in classical battle formations for a while. I think the phalanx did good against a Roman shield wall if it didn’t have to maneuver much, which is perfect for city steeets.

Hell, you could go the whole nonlethal bullets route with 3d print guns, but I think firing weapons may result in very much and very lethal escalation, so while I wouldn’t recommend it I don’t see why 3d printed guns couldn’t be used in a staggered fire formation like they used in the 1800s, except you’d just keep preloaded single use pistols in the back pre-loaded with nonlethal rounds. It would be inaccurate as all fuck but that’s the beauty of infantry formations in the 1800: the guns were inaccurate as fuck. At least in the beginning.

If they’re safe enough to use against protestors then the police shouldn’t have a problem, right?
