So, I work with New Yorkers and this happens all the time lol. How should I respond to this in a proper way then lol, it feels odd to respond with the same question :P

Awesome!!
Kane@femboys.bizto Technology@lemmy.world•Zen browser had a backdoor enabled by defaultEnglish0·6 months agoFair, I was referring to the referenced issue in the comments on this post.
What was surprising to me, is that there were many comments, and mentions of devs, yet no acknowledgment or getting linked to another issue.
That is a red flag to me.

Would it now then be possible to subscribe to a Ghost blog from here, or would some additional integration need to be made?
Curious if there’s an example of a Ghost blog interacting with the wider fediverse.
This is a blast from the past
Honestly I don’t mind additional standards.
But I’m weary of: “does it really matter?”. As I’m sure just about everyone would prefer their data isn’t used, and it’s not the question that people care about.
Instead: How would anything like this be enforced, and by who?
Kane@femboys.bizto Technology@lemmy.world•New Reddit controls let you block your most-hated advertisers for a yearEnglish0·6 months agoHmm, how would that work?
I assume if an ad is just trying to track what websites you visit often, this would not work 100% of the time, as they would still get your IP if a request went towards the advertiser, or am I misunderstanding how it works.
Kane@femboys.bizto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why hasn't video quality improved much over the past ten years?0·6 months agoHonestly I’m not sure I completely agree, we’re pretty close to a perfect TV with new LED technology.
But maybe we’re talking about a next stage here, like true 3D or something else like smell? I’m not sure what the future will be, but TVs look pretty good to me and I’m not sure what perfections the current ‘variant’ needs.

Works perfectly fine on mobile, too!
People still want to see people.
And, of course, you can make more money when you force everyone to come in.
Thank you! Had the domain for a while, and now found the perfect use case for it :D
I feel like PeerTube only makes sense in the case of “I have the technical knowledge to host my own instance”
As indeed, I find it difficult to believe that any single “community”-instance will survive once it starts getting some traction. Hosting, maintaining and moderating such a platform would be extremely expensive if you have to do it for not only your own content.
Kane@femboys.bizto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do most people stay in centralized social media platforms when the Fediverse exists?0·6 months agoEase of access and user experience. A single platform beats that, as you don’t have to choose where to signup and everything will be available without effort.
However, Lemmy is getting better with that and hopefully the user base continues growing. It doesn’t need to have a billion users to be an awesome experience.
This is fair, and might advertise a bit just how expensive Windows still is.
Have other companies been doing this before, I’ve heard of Dell selling Linux laptops but not sure if they’re cheaper.
