It’s like a politician, “Look how bad the others are” and then not proposing anything better (because at this moment, there isn’t).

Right, always this link to show that signal isn’t trustworthy and then lists “good alternatives” that are either less secure or less usable
Not sure if making searches from a registered account is the way to go for people who “care about utmost privacy”
You probably want to use one of the ones that lets you search without registering.

I can see you’ve spent a lot of time in any European country
There are no viable package solutions, that’s the thing. If you want to make sure your service supplier shares your values, there’s nothing but self-hosting left.
Guess different life styles have different bed needs!
Unless you’re still 2 years old and somehow got on here, 13 hours do you more damage than good. But I’m gonna throw a wild guess out there that you don’t have two kids and a mortgage.
I mean, I fully agree with the sentiment, but if you think you won’t notice the difference between a $400 and $2000 bed, you just haven’t slept in one. I got almost 2 hours more sleep a night switching up to a $2000 (dumb) bed.

I also like how the “good alternatives” blog post shows a bunch of apps that basically have “less secure”, “not compatible” or “unstable” as caveats. Signal is (for now) still gold standard for messaging apps overall.
I asked my family if they wanted help setting Signal up as that would be the only way to reach me. Worked like a charm and have used Signal as primary message app for like 6 years.
Probably closer to annoyingly slow than unusable, but I was definitely happy when j got an alternative to it.
It works, but it is pretty slow.
Edit: I don’t use it anymore, after proton added photo upload I switched entirely.
I’m not sure you know the definition of “selling out”
Edit: spelling
This guy gets downvoted, but it’s clearly just sarcasm right?
Right?
Vivaldi browser isn’t though.
I’m guessing he means “it’s proprietary”.
Mailbox does seem to have its own problem too
