Depending on the anticheat it can be as simple as enabling Linux/Proton support on the dev’s side with a flag.
I can’t play Destiny 2 with my Destiny obsessed friend, that’s about all I’ve been impacted. Didn’t really get into it anyway. I don’t even check ProtonDB anymore before buying new games, they almost all work flawlessly these days.

I’m not sure exactly how these particular ones are set up, but the other major players in the space (Axis,Bosch,Panasonic) all have pretty surprising levels of local compute dedicated to “AI”, and leveraging external VMS platforms can exponentially increase capabilities. It’s pretty idiot proof once set up, as it’s aimed at desk jockies that monitor and report with minimal systems training.
Again, not this specific system but this stuff is far from sci-fi anymore.

With any commercial unit made in the last 5 years and any software past entry level consumer grade this is a non-issue. Especially if someone is using descriptive visual search when pulling up video vs just scanning through every motion event.

I learned a ton of my early computer skills trying to get stuff running where I shouldn’t or get into things I had no business messing with. That’s how kids learn!

Follow Sony’s play and call it an “OtherOS” mode. You don’t even have to support it once you’re already shipping under the new classification!
Yeah but it’s all strip malls and Arby’s.

They’re the only thing I wear tee shirts for, have stickers all over my gear, and talk about way too often. Underappreciated champions of the people and nobody outside of these kinds of circles knows who the hell they are.
Oh look, Boston!

NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux@programming.dev•EndeavourOS: Our new ISO release is here, meet MercuryEnglish5·7 months agoWell Pop is based on Ubuntu, while EndeavourOS is based on Arch. So package availability is a little different. I’ve never really had issues with either but only really checked out Pop for a few weeks. I’m typing this from my EOS rig I play all my games on that’s been stable and happy for maybe a year now.
One distro is fairly similar (or can be made similar) to another more or less if you get into it. I’ve found EndeavourOS pretty damn easy to set up and run for what that’s worth and run it on three different machines right now.
You don’t need to build out a giant shack with a tower and 1kW of transmit to get on the air and hit decent ranges! There’s a ton of 5-10W pocket sized radios that’ll give you surprisingly great results with just a wire thrown up a tree branch, some under $40 if you wanna learn the dit-dahs. The equipment is way less important than how you set it up, and anything is better than nothing. Get on the air and have fun!
