Totally agree. Either way, this will 1000000% be used to fan the flames. If it turns out to be a left wing woke nutjob or something they will obviously cream their pants in glee and just scream something along the lines of “see? The left is so horrible and so violent. Look at what they’ve done! We need to stop them now before it gets worse!” If it’s a right wing idiot they’ll just gloss over that and say “look how violent our cities our. I get what you’re saying and you’re definitely right. I don’t side load things all that much but the times I have was because there was no other viable way to get what I needed and it worked amazingly well (not to mention testing something before it’s available on the app store).

It’s one of those things like a fire extinguisher that you might not need but you are very grateful it’s there just in case you ever do.

That’s how it works… It’s all theatre, always has been. And it works. Look how many people are head over heels for pretty much anything this administration does. Actual outcomes don’t matter. Consequences don’t matter until it guts them personally, and even then sometimes it doesn’t matter. All that matters is how it looks in the media and the theatre makes it look damn good to their demographic and they love it.

This is not new. He’s been harping about how dangerous and terrible scientific journals are for years and has said numerous times he’s going to try and shut down some of the leading ones. And I have no doubt he will succeed at least with a few. We are rocketing past Idiocracy at this point.

Not to mention 3 or 4 ppl that can and will reliably make mortgage payments for 15 or more likely 30 years. Once someone drops out because of life then they’ll want to be bought out by the next person which introduced a whole bunch of headaches. Having watched this exact thing play out, this will most likely turn into a bitter nightmare of endless paperwork and some ruined relationships.

I mean with regards to this poll, yes and no. Look at the question framing. For some questions this is true but a lot don’t really leave space for that mistake:

Did trump have a negative affect on grocery prices?

Did trump have a negative affect on your finances prices?

Will Trump’s tarrifs increase the price of every day goods?

These don’t ask if Trump or his administration is responsible for high grocery prices or CoL or the financial climate, just if he has helped or worsened it. Other questions are pretty clear in their separation from this specific administration:

Do you believe Corporations or billionaires have had an active role in making life more difficult for average people over the past 25 years?

Do you believe congressional Republicans or congressional Democrats have made life more difficult?

A lot of the other questions just have to do with how anxious people feel about finances or the concerns they have and doesn’t really ask about any politicians at all.

Of course you are absolutely right that, in general, people have an astonishingly and consistently short memory resulting in attributing current problems to current politicians but I dunno if this poll is really indicative of that.

I mean you might not like it but he’s totally right. I stopped eating carrot cake 3 years ago and about 4 months afterwards I got in a horrific car accident. 2 people were critically injured, 2 more died and a llama was also killed. I was miraculously unharmed and the doctors said if I had even a bite of carrot cake in the months leading up to that I would have been hurt badly. Who knows how big that medical bill would have been… Thanks Dr. Oz!

I feel like it’s very strange to not even mention the fact that many, many of these researchers have completely lost, or will lose the grants for the research that is the entire reason for their being in the field in which they are. They literally cannot do what they are there to do anymore. in addition, many additional folks are no longer allowed to work on or publish their projects because they are centered on or use some of Trump’s no-no words. There is way more than just salaries causing the brain drain out of the US right now.

You just aren’t thinking big picture. This will need time to play out. $90 million over 50,000 years and those tax cuts are gone! Be patient.

Completely agree. There are some things ai clearly struggles very hard with but the rate at which it is improving in just about every single facet is insane. I mean just take a look at this, this was unimaginable like literally months ago. That thing is 100% ai generated. Sound, visuals, script… everything is made from a prompt in a few minutes. And we’re still basically just at the infant stage. Just imagine what the hell these things will be doing in 20 or 50 or 100 years.

I mean I guess this might be conspiracy territory (although at this point I feel he’s pretty much completely admitted as much through his whole “I am become meme” cringe persona) but I feel like it’s pretty clear he knew exactly what he was doing at the inauguration and just did it as a “lol watch what edgy thing I’m gonna do… and they won’t do a thing about it” and he was 8 billion percent right.
