I don’t think ‘I don’t believe in the axiom of choice’ is an opinion, it’s kind of a weird statement to make because the axiom exists. You can have an opinion on whether mathematicians should use it given the fact that it’s an unprovable statement, but that’s true for all axioms.

Any math that needs the axiom of choice has no real life application so I do think it’s kind of silly that so much research is done on math that uses it. At that point mathematics basically becomes art but it’s art that’s only understood by some mathematicians so its value is debatable in my opinion. <- I suppose that opinion is controversial among mathematicians.

We make mathematical definitions to do math. We can define 0! any way we want but we defined it to be equal to 1 because it fits in nicely with the way the factorial function works on other numbers.

Literally the only reason why mathematicians define stuff is because it’s easier to work with definitions than to do everything from elementary tools. What the elementary tools are is also subjective. Mathematics isn’t some objective truth, it’s just human made structures that we can expand and better understand through applying logic in the form of proofs. Sometimes we can even apply them to real world situations!

There’s different levels if neo nazi problems and Ukraine has a huge one. Even if you think the nazi’s are fighting the ‘good side’ in this war, they will use the opportunity to be racist and victimise minority groups. The US providing weapons to openly neo nazi Azov battalion really did not get the scrutiny it deserves.

You can both recognise that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not justified and that Ukraine has a neonazi problem (partly caused by the US who funded neo nazi groups in the Soviet Union to resist the evil commies). Western media is whitewashing actual neo nazi militias in Ukraine. That’s a seriously dangerous precedent, especially as neo nazis are gaining a lot of ground in the West.

Having a proxy governments in Iraq and Lebanon can’t be cheap. US ‘embassy’ in Iraq can house 16 000 staff and the one they’re building in Lebanon can house 5 000 staff.

Social violence is still violence. The ruling class tries its best to blur the lines and make it seem okay because it’s legal. But in many cases social violence is even more deadly than regular violence. Most people understand that, which is why the ruling class needs a strong police state in order to feel safe.

Directing the attention towards the voters instead of the democratic party is a deliberate tactic to create division among the working class. The democratic party has way more power than your neighbour who didn’t vote. Getting angry at your neighbour will only alienate them further. It’s a waste of energy.
