Does anybody else get this message when trying to access articles?

I’ve updated bypass paywall and it’s made no difference. I’ve also disabled my vpn and emptied my cache to little avail.

How do we get around this new problem please?

thanks

For your web browser, Add this to your uBlock Origin block list:

    lemmy.dbzer0.com##.title:has-text(/nytimes.com/)

You can add additional sites, separated by pipes like this::

    lemmy.dbzer0.com##.title:has-text(/nytimes.com|theverge.com|404media.co/)

    This will turn this:

    into this:

So you don’t accidentally get interested in a bullshit paywalled article.

      Thanks for that.

I note that archive has a Firefox addon but I can’t seem to see the icon in the toolbar anywhere after installing. It’s only an issue because accessing the archive link direct makes me jump through security check hoops before being able to use it online.

More and more sites are becoming hostile to VPN’s and flagging the IP’s of major providers. I’ve been encountering this more and more with proton VPN, though generally it still works fine

most sites, including social media will block vpn, because the most common one are abused asf on social media sites, like reddit. its not hard to figure out which vpn. i think thats why ban evaders use mobile rotating proxies instead, not cheap if you run hordes of accounts. on anyone social media platform, or site.

I wouldn’t be willing to disable my vpn for the nyt so thanks for confirming that it wouldn’t have made a difference. It appears that they now block everyone who doesn’t let javascript freely do whatever it wants to fingerprint you or whatever. I’ll not miss them too much.
