minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoWhat about a person who works in a meat processing plant? Killing hundreds of chickens a day. Are they a psychopath?
minus-squareYappyMonotheist@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoThey’re even worse, as they do it with no emotion. It’s cold and calculated.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoFascinating! So what about exterminators killing bugs? Does the size of the creature matter?
minus-squareYappyMonotheist@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoThey’re genocidal beasts and will go to Hell for ‘taking care’ of my apartment’s cockroach infestation!
minus-squareObliviousEnlightenment@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoI feel inclined to purchase some meat today just to upset you
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months ago What about a person who works in a meat processing plant? What about them? Killing hundreds of chickens a day. Yes, for food. Are they a psychopath? Why would they be a psychopath?
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoSorry, I think I got my wires crossed between your post and someone else’s. You were not claiming the person killing the seagull was a psychopath.
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·edit-22 months agoI called him a psycho, yes. He did kill for revenge, not for food. And in front of children. I don’t have any issues with killing for food and I love a good steak.Killing as pests eradication is also OK before you ask. This was neither though.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoWhat are you using for pest categorization? Why are you okay with a seagull stealing your chip and not a rat?
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoI am not ok with either. I wouldn’t kill either. Pest control works differently. You are trying to kill as many individuals in a very short time span to cripple the population growth. Even if seagulls were classed as pest, killing one has nothing to do with pest control.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoSorry, I didn’t mean to imply you were ok with killing anything, bad wording on my part. When is killing a pest consider pest control and when is it not pest control?
minus-squareFelixCress@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoI answered exactly this question in my previous comment.
minus-squaredeaf_fish@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up0·2 months agoThis statement? You are trying to kill as many individuals in a very short time span to cripple the population growth So if a house had one rat, killing it wouldn’t count as pest control because it’s not killing many individuals?

This statement?
So if a house had one rat, killing it wouldn’t count as pest control because it’s not killing many individuals?
