Hiya, was wondering what the best way to gain access to content from Channel4 is, living outside the UK. So I assume there’s going to be a VPN involved to the UK, unless there is a site that has most of the content pirated? Looking for very niche shows in specific like ''Escape to the Château" and the similar shows. Got stremio+torrentio+RD setup, but I guess the shows are too niche to find these. Also have the *arr stack setup, but had no luck finding them on the public/semi-private/private trackers that I have access too.
Appreciate any tips.
All you need is a VPN, connect to the UK and you can make an account on channel4.com and watch everything there.
With some fiddeling around you can even download the videos straight from their website.
If you can, torrent it for the rest of us to watch. I want to give it a try.
I live in the UK haven’t had any joy downloading Channel 4 content for my own personal use… I don’t even intend to pirate it, I just wanna watch it in bed. Their digital restrictions management is ridiculous.
Alrighty, thanks
We stream content on the Channel4 website using a VPN without issue as long as the browser ad-block is disabled. I created a free account and all I need to do is sign in.
Does casting work fine? Assumed that casting from a PC with VPN to a TV without the VPN wouldn’t work?
One option is to get an IPTV service and use it with an app where you can record the shows on disk (like TiVo I think you guys use, heard that a lot on older TV shows lol). Will only record future shows but tbh, a lot gets repeated on their other channels (https://www.channel4.com/tv-guide).
Using a VPN is another option but I recently couldnt load the app while using a lesser known VPN from within the UK so they seem hot on blocking them.
Another option is rent a cheap VPS from in the UK to act as your own VPN.
All of their shows is on their app, and they have a pretty cheap ad free option if you can figure that out too.
mabye wait for freely and get a vpn?
What is freely?
freely is a planned streaming service for British television, you should probably research about it though
If you need a VPN look for a shared VPN account there is a page called playerup you can grab one for like 3USD for a year or more. In the other means I use a private premium IPTV service let’s see what other people recommend to you.
