Lemmy has dive bombed into a "Rules Rules Rules " shit show. I wanted to post something. Took me 5 tries to find someplace that didn’t require a link. Why? How did it become so bad. This isnt freedom anymore, you post something and it’s blocked damn near everywhere. This is work, not freedom.
This is either a UX or User issue.
Probably both, Lemmy UX is quite bad, but understanding sub rules can also be a pain, it’s also true for Reddit
It would help to know what in particular you were trying to post and where (including instance for the more generic communities like music).
Nine times out of ten when someone posts a complaint this vague it’s because they know it wouldn’t be received well if they were direct about it, so you’re already starting off at a disadvantage here unless you edit that info into your main post.
Lastly, if you want to just post with very few rules or mods to hold you back, there’s a whole massive network of imageboards for you. 4chan is back up, it didn’t die from the hack a few months ago (for better or worse).
You just posted something without a link.
I haven’t had that problem here, ever.
Why don’t you just at least tell us what it’s about in the comment section here? We can’t judge like this.
No one owes you a soapbox, but you are free to create a community if you can’t find one that matches your interests.
Well the fun thing is if instances don’t work how you like you can always run your own. All you need is a domain and a 24/7 PC like a raspberry pi.
Everyone always says this. But if it’s not on a big com that has many subscribers or makes it to the all feed, then no one will see the post.
Unlike Reddit, if the community is federated, it makes it to the all feed. Maybe not if sorting by hot or something. But it makes it there.
Well, freedom of speach is not freedom of being heard.
Of course. But I don’t think that answer helps OP.
That is why there are the new community and community promotion communities you can post into to gain visibility.
