They could sell the car and buy a different one if they really cared.

Not everyone can afford to do that. And the cost isn’t the only consideration. Availability of compatible charging stations, comparable range/cost, and an number of other factors come into play that you keep ignoring. It’s just not that simple for most people.

This is like driving a massive V8 truck with a “climate change is real” bumper sticker if you ask me

It’s nothing like that at all

If you can afford a Tesla, I’m pretty sure you can afford almost any other car on the market.

Ah, now that you say so… I’m totally convinced and will immediately change my mind. /s

You don’t know that, unless you claim psychic knowledge of the finances of every Tesla owner— rather than admit you’re wrong, lol

So you’re just here to troll in bad faith, not have a rational discussion. Got it.

I’m sorry but if your finances really are in that bad a shape, wouldn’t it make sense to sell the Tesla and buy a Prius instead? Is their resale value really THAT awful?

“No, it’s not like that” isn’t an argument, it’s merely an opinion. Sorry, but that’s not how rational discussions work.
