If I have champagne do I need to lick rocks exclusively from the Champagne region of France?
No, but otherwise they are just sparkling Gneiss
No, they must come from Little Rock, Arkansas
A white with basalt? How gauche.
What’s this? A meme for goats?
I’m gonna disagree with you and say Pinot Gris pairs far better with limestone.
Limestone is super basic so I would pair with something acidic, I think white wines in general are more acidic so imma agree with op.
Frankly, I think the diacetyl from an aged chardonnay would give it good company if time isn’t an issue.
Sancerre, for sure.
What pairs well with coprolite?
Baby Duck
An Australian cabernet
The faceting community would welcome anyone who wants to create a wine pairing guide for our lickable rocks.
Oh, you WOULD have the stones to say that.
Wow. Didn’t know I needed that community
Honestly, I’m a little surprised. I would have expected basalt to pair with a red, and granite to pair with a white.
Tholeiites or Alkali?
I agree, though. Basalt takes a red regardless.
STOPLICKINGTHEDAMNTHING!
It’s a thing for geologists
