Someone correct me if im wrong but theres few sugar substitutes that dont cause insulin reactions. So I don’t buy the zero calorie lable that’s allo over these types of sweetener. For fasting purposes they break fasts and for diabetic purposes they can be worse than sugar. At least when I buy a drink with real sugar it doesn’t mislead me about the calorie content. I really like diet coke with the aspartame though, but I assume it’s just about as bad as the normal one.
The available research on the effects of monk fruit sweetener on insulin levels is limited. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that monk fruit sweetener did not cause a significant increase in insulin levels compared to sugar when consumed in moderate amounts.
