    If I’m getting what you’re asking, “Jaws” is a famous example. Obsticle was: shark animatronic looks really bad. A solutiin: let’s not show it almost at all… which likely made a movie better.

      Jurassic Park too. The first movie is over two hours long, and only has something like 12 minutes of dinosaur footage. And most of that is practical effects like puppets. That’s why the CGI hasn’t aged poorly; it’s not CGI.
