I’m about to take a long flight and am looking to expand my music library.
EDIT: Thanks so much, everyone! I’ve got 10.5 hours of music on my new playlist thanks to you all!
Chat pile. Album; Gods country
I remember seeing all the hype for that record when it came out but didn’t get it until catching them live at Outbreak fest, immense stuff
Always been a Clutch fan, but I’ve been listening to Three Golden Horns a lot the past few days.
The Rumjacks. Irish punk / rock / folk and very good.
The original singer had some issues, and was replaced by another singer with a great voice :)
Machinae Supremacy - Sidology 3
Hump Back - 「番狂わせ」(Upset) - Will likely have to watch it through Invidious or a VPN with an exit node in Japan, afaik it region locked to Japan only… ;-;
The band was somewhat recently featured on Bocchi the Rock with one of the scenes in the linked video being adapted into the cover page.
I’m not obsessed with Wisp
it’s much deeper than that
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. About to release their 27th album and have covered pretty much every genre so no matter what you like, there’s probably a record for you. My favorite is the Flying Yellow Microtonal Banana, full of great tracks, but Billabong Valley has broad appeal.
I love KGLW but I don’t like the microtonal stuff.
King gizzard are exceptional, only downside is that it can be a little intimidating with 27 studio albums to choose from for a first listener! Honestly a good method to pick based on what you like is from their album covers, they do a pretty good job summing up what it’ll sound like imo.
The other way to navigate it is if you get into the storyline of the Gizzverse, the fictional universe that is referenced throughout their songs, but not in chronological order. Trying to piece it together has encouraged me to branch out and listen to albums I otherwise might have ignored.
Destiny Potato
Passage Du Desir - Sturgill Simpson. His whole catalog is solid if you like more classic country (Merle/Willie)with some experimental elements.
The Armed and Idles. Seriously can’t get enough of them.
green day all day rn, my girlfriend got me their entire discography and ive been loving it. saviors is an amazing album on top of their classics
Idc about Coachella usually but been loving the banter between them and Charli
Kanaan
Reign Wolf
Goodbye June
The Chats
Smoko by The Chats is an absolute masterpiece
The Heavy
Kaleo
Windhand. Sort of a psychedelic doom metal with groovy elements and a haunting, ethereal female vocalist
Listened to them a bit in my metal days, impressed to see them have over 80k monthly listeners on Spotify now!
Ghostface killah
Twelve Reasons To Die might be my favorite solo wu album
