So upon reflecting on their comment, at first being against it.
It made me reflect, it’s just a dumb idea. How would it moderate? For women implies that is the sole audience. Would you need ID, picture or purely taking their word? Power structure begins to form in all but the last. Trans people? Nonbinary afab?
Just the other day I saw a post on reddit about some person that is nonbinary going to a women outdoors event. They got harassed for being non-binary while being afab. Everyone in the comments(event’s subreddit) talked about why go if you don’t even call yourself a woman or identify with it. Theyre just throwing a fit, yadayadayada.
Just because some person wanted to go outdoors in a safe space with a friend. Where would they go? Spaces for women are rare, spaces for nonbinaries? Nonexistent. Then again, everyone has the mentality provide for mine and not theirs. I hope if alien life finds us, they have evolved past such rudimentary concepts. The singularity consumes us in all except compassion.
Division is made when you divide the people. I understand at least in person where men can overpower women, safety is a concern. Online spaces lessen this dynamic heavily. Which leaves you with the person, and not the gender. Gender only plays into the persons perspective and being. (Raising, rituals, routines, and quality of life)
Not against the idea of a women only online forum. Just in general already against the massive structural issues with Lemmy. It is a group of people who like to constantly divide, along with all the linux dweebs in here, because they’d rather splinter than unite through meticulous effort.
I haven’t written anything about excluding other genders. It’s only about a women centric place with additional moderation protection and administration and moderation by women (and yes, these can also be trans women or even men admins and mods if the group decides so).
But why excluding men or anybody else from participating, as long as they stay on topic?

Having a space for women by women isn’t division. It’s about creating a safe space.

What structural issues?
It is a group of people who like to constantly divide
Isn’t this normal human behavior? Still doesn’t mean that people are enemies because of splitting into different groups.
Notice how your first paragraph is so unsure and still says nothing new. You just explained the original post and my discourse.
What danger do women face online that men do not? I have gotten sexually harassed, groomed, exploited, and other things online by men too. Why am I not protected for just being a man?
It’s almost like gender matters little with intent of the being.
It is normal if you never evolved beyond it, however the whole point of unity is to overcome the simple walls that exist. The differences in physical manifestation are only an extent of your being.
All beings are capable, the capacity is only how far you dare travel from your own path.
