My parents live on a 10 acre lot in the country. They have a few chickens for eggs, no crops and no cows. They had some random dude knock on their front door looking for raw milk. My parents informed him they don’t have cows and aren’t a dairy farm. The man insisted it was ok to tell him the truth, it wasn’t illegal to sell him raw milk so long as they didn’t advertise (true in this state). It took several rounds of back and forth to convince this guy that we had no hidden cows producing milk.
I chalk it up 1) dude with some screws loose and 2) he was caught up in the overblown hype that raw, local milk is borderline magical.
He said he’d keep driving down the road and try someplace else. Good thing, because Ol’ Betsy was getting tired of being shoved in her hidey hole.
Nope. But I have a tangential anecdote.
