The official Telegram app with ads that appear at inconvenient locations bugs me. Any recomendations for a good FOSS Telegram client that does not show ads?

    I don’t think so. As long as you are not in some shady third party fork, you will be okay.

    I have been using telegram forks for some time now, never encountered a ban or anything like that.
