I want to have a running thread and use the OP as a table of contents linking to specific comments within the thread.

    Every post and comment has a link, but with a couple caveats.

    1. Each link is unique to your home instance. Anybody else from a different instance using your link will be redirected to your instance, unless they’re using a UI or app that supports it.

    2. How you obtain the link depends on how you’re viewing lemmy. There should definitely be a method regardless, but you’ll have to specify your app and maybe ask in the relevant comm.
