Put them on a mission to Jupiter in a ship controlled by a human-like computer. The crew is in suspended animation, and after experiencing an error the computer kills their partner and the entire crew. They are left with no choice but to deactivate the computer, whereupon they learn that the mission has a mysterious hidden objective.

Then they trip balls, see their life flash before their eyes, and become a space baby. Could be worse.

According to my sister back when she was going through her dramatic teen years, it was as simple as going to work on time instead of driving her to meet her friends.

Give them advice about how to do it to someone else.

The vast majority of people (i include myself in this) will fuck it up in some way and end up harming themselves. If you seek to destroy someone’s life and you don’t actually end it, you leave behind someone who has nothing left to lose and is highly motivated to find who is responsible.

If you destroy someone’s life they may end yours.
