I was wondering if there is an alternative platform such as Lemmy and Reddit that has these networks of discussion based forums with wide ranging topics but with more free speech/less censorship and a userbase that more realistically represents the actual people of the world.

I noticed that Reddit and especially Lemmy lean extremely far to the left and therefore have a pretty unrealistic bias for things which doesn’t accurately reflect how most average people would see things.

I’m someone who is very open for all kinds of viewpoints and I’m looking for a place where I can get answers that more accurately reflect peoples view.

For example as someone who’s interested in American politics and culture it is basically impossible to learn about it on this platform since everyone here including Americans themselves seems to have a deep hate towards America and the values it stands for.

I also noticed that even though it’s better than on Reddit there are still moderators here who will remove discussions just when people don’t agree on a topic. And I’m looking for something that is not censoring content unless it’s illegal to be able to freely express oneself.

The problem with platforms such as X is that they’re structurally drastically different from something like Lemmy or Reddit. Even though X does have communities, they’re not as wide ranging in topics and don’t focus on more in-depth discussion. Instead X seems to mainly promote prominent individuals opinions over the quality of content itself. Furthermore there also seems to be a character limit for X posts which basically only gives you a few basic sentences as a title without having a more detailed body section (unless you pay for it I guess, but even then the chance that anyone will see your post and answers is very low).

I assume I will probably also don’t get a proper answer on this one since I will now be called a disturbed radical right person who seeks platforms that will promote hate and child pornography or something.

Lemmy is still very niche so it’s mainly populated by a specific type of people. That is normal and the same for every platform that starts small and grows slowly (reddit, instagram,…). If you want to see different content you can create your own communities or if they are not allowed even your own instance. But Lemmy still has to grow a lot to attract “normal people”. They are still on reddit at the moment.

By the way which censorship are you referring to that could not be resolved by moving to another instance?
