I just installed Win11 (previously on Win10). I created the bootable USB with Rufus and checked to skip the Microsoft account login requirement (Rufus created a local account for me). Now I discovered I can’t download anything from this store because of this error. Google / Youtube haven’t been very helpful.

I know I’m not the one you asked but I’ll answer since I put on Win11 after first trying out Ubuntu from Win10. Apps were a dealbreaker for me. I pay for Apple Music and Tidal for lossless music, neither have a proper Linux app (Apple Music has Cider but it doesn’t support lossless and Tidal has a DIY client but it only supports music up to HiFi quality not Master). Plus there were many random bugs such as the snap store refusing to update as it was “running at the same time” and I tried to install Deluge from the app store, it installed but there was no client actually showing up.

Unlimited instant access to more music than I could ever listen to in highest quality for a small monthly payment is very worth it to me as a music enthusiast and audiophile.

My hearing is very sensitive to music; they both sound just as good but Apple Music has a sharper / cleaner sound while Tidal is warmer / bassier. Depending on the genre / the mood I’m in I switch between the 2. Plus sometimes there’s music on one that’s not on the other.

Not OP, but mostly inertia. I have a workflow. I have the programs I need to do what I want. Most of it is stuff I’ve had in place for years. Can I do those things on Linux? Probably, but I’d have to look into it.

That being said, my laptop doesn’t officially support Windows 11, so the Windows 10 EoL in October will probably be the “external force” I need to format my drive and switch. Well done, Microsoft.
