Introducing Sudo for Windows We’re excited to announce the release of Sudo for Windows in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26052! Sudo for Windows is a new way for users to run elevated commands directly from an unelevated console session. It is an ergonomic and familiar solution for users who want to elevate a command without having to first open a new elevated console.
Maybe you could open your “fucking” eyes and read what I replied to you? 😊
I fully agree with you that Microsoft is a blight on the tech world and that they are no friends of free and/or open source software. Nowhere in my previous replies did I disagree with you on that.
I simply disagree with the idea that “Microsoft sudo” falls under the definition of “Embrace, extend, and extinguish”. Is it a bit shitty that they named it sudo rather than something else? Yeah.
Like I said, EEE is not an umbrella term for “bad thing big tech company does”. Here’s a definition for you, from the Wikipedia page I linked in a previous comment:
[…] strategy for entering product categories involving widely used standards, extending those standards with proprietary capabilities, and then using those differences in order to strongly disadvantage its competitors.
Please, tell me how MS sudo, which is for a different platform than sudo and doesn’t not offer any interoperability between the two, falls under this definition?
If you’re this hostile to someone who practically agrees with you on every point except your use of the term “embrace, extend, extinguish”, I guess I understand why some Windows users perceive Linux users as fanatic zealots. I’m on your side!!

Seriously open your fucking eyes…

Yeah was harsh, having some shit times right now and sometimes it comes out on here rather than IRL. Sorry.
It’s the fact they are adding familiar elements, it has shit to do with interoperability, probably just for now. Its MS were talking about
And I’m just a dumb windows user man, been too lazy to make the transition.
Hey no worries, we all have our bad days. Props for owning up to it! Apologies if I ever came off as rude as well.
Hope you feel better soon 💕
