I have a " no drag racing" sign near my home. It doesn’t seem to have had the effect they hoped for
Same here, I’ve already been hit twice. They don’t even turn on their headlights in the dark!
Though I’ve found having my own flashlight helps - most have some sparkly stuff on their dresses.

Reminds me of joke in the movie Support Your Local Sheriff. Inside the saloon the sherif (James Garner) chastises the towns people inside “3 folks have been shot today and it’s not even sundown”. After he leaves the bartender says “you heard the sheriff, no shooting anyone until after dark”

I’m fairly sure this sign is in Margate in the UK.
Well if that’s the case my guess from there is it’s moreso warning of extra penalties for shall we say ‘daytime mischief’.
