i forgot which desktop-environment/window-manager it was (icewm?) but it had a nice collection of old screensavers like the pipe maze and the bouncing marque and starfied warp and flying toasters, etc.
it was almost 20 years ago so i assume that ms or apple would have come suing by now
Pretty sure you’re describing XScreenSaver! Still alive and well :)
I would bet your right. One of the best collections of screensavers out there. I know they work on X but I haven’t yet tried on Wayland. Guess when I her home I’ll give it a try.
yes, there was an additional package you could install that came from the project that worked with xscreensaver
