For example, I don’t use TikTok. I never have, and I never will, and I’d advise everyone else to get off the platform too. I genuinely believe it’s objectively harmful to people’s mental health and possibly even a threat to democracy. That said, I also believe people should be free to decide for themselves whether they want to use it or not, which is why I’m against the U.S. government banning it.

    I don’t fly, I don’t eat meat, I would love both if they could be done ethically but they can’t. I don’t frame that as preference versus ethics, because it is my preference to put my principles over ignorant pleasures. These are luxuries that I can do without (and so can anyone else).

      I’d argue eating meat can be done ethically though. Hunting is one way and growing your own farm animals is another.
