I’d recommend finding some FOSS projects to contribute to so that you can stay sharp and also add stuff to your resume. Plenty out there that needs worked on, and not all of it can be done by people working full time at another job.
In an attempt to cheer you up: most of us are useless bums, some are just getting paid more, due to lucky circumstances. You are not worth less than the rest of us goofballs.
Also, you have access to the biggest library in human history (internet) and things could be way worse. If this was 1824, I probably would be very happy, if I could live the life I’m living now. :)Hey! I’m not useless! I cleaned my own coffee mug today and pushed not even ten bugs to production this week!
I have no idea who would think you are useless because you don’t have a job. Are you American? Because I think that culture is slightly mentally ill about associating personal value to what job you have.
