Ok so Trump has been elected president. I honestly don’t care whether it is the fault of the people that are constantly bickering online or the DNC platform.

To me all that matters is what are you going to do next.

Trump has outlined a plan, Agenda 47, and is probably in cahoots with the people that made Project 2025. They have spelled out every horrible thing they are going to do.

How are you individually planning to help stop/curtail these efforts?

Sabotaging oil rigs, stopping the destruction of abortion clinics, DIY medicine, guerilla gardening, etc.

The actions don’t have to be big, but we are currently in the position that the people who lived under Hitler went through can we please not take this sitting down.

I put together a little list that I think will be helpful for others, because little about what I do personally is going to change.

    1. Get organized. Join a Leftist org, find solidarity with fellow comrades, and protect each other. The Dems will not save you, it is up to the Workers to protect themselves. The Party for Socialism and Liberation and Freedom Road Socialist Organization both organize year round, every year, because the battle for progress is a constant struggle, not a single election. See if there is a chapter near you, or start one! Or, see if there’s an org you like more near you and join it, the point is that organizing is the best thing any leftist can do.

    2. Read theory. A good primer is Blackshirts and Reds. It will help contextualize what fascism is, what causes it, and how to stop it. I can offer a good introductory reading list for Marxism if you’d like, but this is a good starting point.

    3. Aggressively combat white supremacy, misogyny, queerphobia, and other attacks on marginalized communities. Cede no ground.

    4. Be more industrious, and self-sufficient. Take up gardening, home repair, tinkering. It is through practice that you elevate your problem-solving capabilities. Not only will you improve your skill at one subject, but your general problem-solving muscles get strengthened as well. Theory guides practice, which sharpens theory to be reapplied to better practice.

    5. Learn self-defense. Get armed, if practical. Be ready to protect yourself and others. The Democrats will not save us, we must save each other.

They’re libertarian business men who want little kingdoms of their own, they’re willing to play on fascism to get it, but they’re not going to be gunning people down in the streets. Especially not now interest rates are being cut by the fed, and the COVID recovery is ready to boost the economy again.

Part of why Trump won was people calling them fascist garbage and stupid. All the people Trump makes feel good about America took offense to that.

Trump bought into their offense by saying “I’m with you, I’m on your side, I’ll even drive the garbage truck. Hahaha”

… and the left’s only response was to double down with “you look stupid and crazy for not automatically agreeing with us, with no discussion or appeal from us”.

That same cycle of “you’re a stupid crazy fascist”

“no we’re playing to make ourseves feel happy and edgy, and unpopitician like”…

“Well that’s stupid and shouldn’t be popular”

Went on for 8 years. That emotional interaction was on repeat. The majority didn’t give them an off ramp or even try to appeal to them, or reason with them.

Studying fascism so you can call them fascist idiots better isn’t going to change the emotions at play, if anything it’s going to amplify them.

No, you have to make America’s history of exploitation and greed, of racism and corruption, of international business cartels, seem good and like winning. Because that’s how he makes them feel: like it’s fun and good and winning to be an American.

They’re saying they don’t want serious politics as usual. You’re saying “if I just call them fascist idiots better they’re agree with me that they’re fascist idiots!”

That’s not a discussion that’s going to resolve any different or better by perfecting your very serious and sad and angry condemnation of them.
