I noticed that a lot of news websites change their news article ( change the title or add and remove sentances and words from the article) without any notice.
All of that left me wondering if there is any news website with changelogs or that is based on git or anything similar that would result in documenting the changes in news articles.
The closest thing I can think of the archive @ Wayback machine. It’s more of a manual way of seeing snapshots rather than diffs.
Regarding the title thing. Lots of news sites will have multiple titles that get swapped at random. The different wordings increase the click through rate. You might not be interested in title 1,2 or 3, but title 4 gets you to click.
But as for change logs for the actual article, none that I know of. The best you normally see is something like “last edited 5 minutes ago”
Some of the German IT news sites I read seem to add a note if they change something of substance. I don’t think they do that for minor things or if they fix the spelling… I can’t find any example but I’m pretty sure I’ve read some articles on heise.de that ended in a paragraph ~we’ve corrected xyz which was stated incorrectly in an earlier version of the article~ They don’t do Git or anything like that, though.
