I rarely use the search function on lemmy because it’s rarely gives me a satisfying results. As much as i hate reddit, i can’t lie that its search algorithm is so good. I’m hoping that lemmy can implement the search algorithm like reddit. I like the relevance sorting the most. Maybe we can have a relevance sorting by matching the typed keyword on search with keyword contained in a post or comment. Also considers weighting the results sorting by the time of submission and users engagement.

    hahahah this is the first time in 15 years i think ive ever, literally ever, saw that someone thought reddits search was ‘good’

    and maybe it has improved since i dumped teh site, but it just struck me as aboslutely hilarious. it was one of their gigantic failures… that google had indexed reddit better than reddit.

    why dont you ask lemmy after theyve had more than decade to work on their search… or ya know, when they hit version 1.0
