Two Aurora elected officials say Venezuelan gangs are taking over apartment buildings, but local police haven’t confirmed those claims, instead describing the gang’s influence in the area as “isolated.”
I live near Aurora. One of those city councilperson’s background is in owning a restaurant of all things. Totes an expert in international gang activity.
An apartment complex got shut down because of their slumlord owners never fixing anything and they blamed it on gangs instead of their negligence.
Conservatives will of course blame immigrants instead of the fine upstanding business owners / slumlords.
There are gangs there like everywhere, they are not taking over anything. Smoke and mirrors.
